WELCOME TO THE FALL/WINTER 2016 edition of Food
Shippers of America magazine.

The goal of our editorial team is to bring to you - twice
a year - a magazine full of articles that are useful,
informative and also enjoyable. Whether it's a feature
about a member, a technical article or news about FSA,
we are hoping you'll read this magazine cover to cover and
use the information provided to further your professional
involvement in the food transportation industry. And we also welcome your feedback
about topics you would like to see covered in future issues.
In every issue you'll find an industry forecast, a regulatory update and a report on retail
trends. In this particular magazine, don't miss our feature about mentoring on page 16
There's a feature on the importance of 3PLs and a discussion of mergers and how they
can affect your company on pages 29 and 32, respectively. We also take a close look
at the Food Safety Modernization Act on page 68. And you'll find articles about
truck parking, logistics technology, tax and accounting changes that impact our
industry, and "The Internet of Things," to name just a few more.
Food Shippers of America Annual Conference Co-chairs Michael Lowe and
Kevin Lynch welcome you to FSA's annual event on page 58. And don't miss the
comprehensive conference program that follows their letter.
It is an exciting time to be an FSA member. The conference continues to bring
people together for collaboration opportunities both between members and
their supplier partners. Besides a fantastic lineup of sessions, there's plenty of
opportunity for fun and networking.
So join us at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida, March 5-7, 2017. It's a
great time of year in Florida and a perfect time to focus on "Positive Attitudes and
Strong Relationships: Key Tools for Success."
FSA members can register again this year for $500. The membership fee for a
company to join FSA is $150 annually, the proceeds of which go to the John J. Murphy

more details and to apply for membership and register for the conference. As with the
past several conferences, attendance will be limited to 900 people. Early registration
will help guarantee your spot!
