HO ME a ID aT L a N Ta HomeAid Builds New Lives for Atlanta's Homeless Families and Individuals homeaid atlanta has been hard at work this summer with the completion of a major project, its annual golf tournament, and its community outreach initiatives. On June 6, 2016, supporters of HomeAid Atlanta gathered at East Lake Golf Club for the annual Housing the Homeless Golf Tournament. This event is HomeAid's major annual fundraiser and it was a great success. Golfers enjoyed great weather for golf, lunch, and a reception at historic East Lake. This important event would not have been possible without the generous support of the 2016 Housing the Homeless Golf Tournament sponsors: Presenting Sponsor: McMichael & Gray; Lunch Sponsor: The Frye Team | Keller Williams Atlanta Perimeter; Shirt Sponsor: O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys at Law, LLC: Beverage Sponsor: Paran Homes; Golf Ball Sponsor: O'Dwyer Homes; Member Sponsor: Patrick Malloy; Leaderboard Sponsor: South Haven Builders; Table Sponsor: Norbord; Photography Sponsor: Northwest Exterminating; Goodie Bag Sponsor: Weissman, Nowack, Curry & Wilco; and Friend Sponsor: HomeTeam Pest Defense. On Friday, June 10, HomeAid Atlanta celebrated the dedication of Building II at Phoenix Pass with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Phoenix Pass is a long‑term transitional housing complex serving women with children who are experiencing temporary homelessness in the Conyers‑Rockdale County community. The new eight‑unit apartment building, built under the guidance of HomeAid Builder Captain John Cooper of Cooper Homes, enables Phoenix Pass to double its capacity to meet the needs of more families as they strive to reestablish self‑sufficiency in a residential setting. HomeAid was able to generate a 50% savings on project costs for Phoenix Pass because of numerous members of the building industry who graciously gave to help single mothers in need. On August 26, HomeAid and Bank of America partnered to assemble and donate 1,200 CareKits at local nonprofit Seven Bridges to Recovery whose mission is to "rescue our brothers and sisters off the streets and help them break the bonds of homelessness, alcohol, drugs, sexual addictions, prostitution and abuse."
