The association provides a full range of services satisfying the needs and concerns of its members, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting public interest. Spring 2015 numerous state and national conferences as his busy schedule allowed. Thank you Steve! I also want to congratulate Bill Scott, III, AGC Houston's 2015-2016 Chairman, and the first person to lead the chapter for a second time. Bill served as Chairman in 2005, which was my first full year as chapter President. He was not only a great mentor, but did yeoman work that year as AGC Houston transitioned from the outstanding leadership of Pat Kiley to me. I am forever grateful. In 2012, Bill was asked to take charge of another transition. Steve Mechler asked Bill to oversee the development of the committee structure, a key take-away from the chapter's last strategic plan. His leading role in this effort, with a major focus on finding and grooming the future leaders of the chapter and industry, was a key reason for him being tapped to lead the chapter a second time. Through his leadership, member participation has continued to steadily increase. Whether it is serving on the Membership or Government Affairs committees, other chapter committees or an event-specific task force, I can't thank you enough for lending your time and expertise for the good of the chapter. Thank you for not only your time, but for the enthusiasm that each of you brings to the discussions. It has been commented often by members and staff that not only did "we get a lot accomplished," but how much camaraderie there is during and after the meetings. As Bill mentioned in his column, there are a lot of ways in which you can get involved to advance our chapter and industry. Whether it is by volunteering on a committee or participating in an AGC Houston event, we hope to see more of you in 2015. ■ COME BY OR CALL TODAY! 8455 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77037 (281) 405-0950 We Support AGC of Houston! !notsuoH fo CGA troppuS eW Even though we are already three months into 2015, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank Steve Mechler for the outstanding job he did as Chairman of AGC Houston over the past two years. His engagement, both in the issues important to the chapter and the industry, as well as his engagement as a chapter representative at the state and national level cannot be understated. He kept us focused on the goals of the 2012 Strategic Plan while attending 704297_HayesTruck.indd 1 8/10/14 11 PM 2:24 http://www.hayestruckgroup.com/
