Tony Mansoorian, W. S. Bellows Construction Corp., center, received a Certificate
of Excellence for Zero Lost Workdays. The
company was also recognized for having
won the AGC of America Grand Award
for Construction Safety Excellence at the
convention on March 8. The company
was selected among each category's
first-place winners and determined the
"Best of the Best" of the 2017 Construction Safety Awards.

They led an engaging discussion with the
attendees about the atmosphere of the
House and the Senate during the 85th
Legislative Session.
Pat Kiley, FMI Corporation wrapped up
the educational session with an overview
of AGC TBB's upcoming Strategic Planning
Session, which is planned this fall.
Kiley elaborated on TBB leading a strategic planning committee to focus on the
future of the organization and find the next
leader. "Every organization looks back at
its foundation and the good leaders to see
how it will move forward," he said. "We
need to focus on our history, what we have
done, what we have accomplished, and
what we have learned to develop a good
strategy for the future." This session served

TBB and the strategic planning committee's role in the coming months. Other
leaders from AGC Chapters echoed their
sentiments to uphold the initiatives of
AGC TBB.

promotes, protects and defends AGC TBB's
core values.
Later that evening, the convention closed
with its annual Outstanding Construction
Awards. Congratulations to Linbeck
Group, LLC, Vaughn Construction,
MLN Company and Walker Engineering
for winning AGC Texas Building Branch
Outstanding Construction Awards. AGC
Houston received a record 40 entries this
year. Selected projects competed with
other AGC Chapter entries statewide.
