Blasters Weekend

The Blasters Weekend included a training seminar on
Saturday designed specifically for the blaster in the field.
The seminar qualifies for blasters re-training hours in several states. Instructors and topics included: Larry Mirabelli
— Introduction; Mark Grigons — Using Scaled Depth of
Burial; Keith Henderson — Moving 50 Feet of Burden; Bill
Hissem — Drilling Accuracy; Sandy Tavelli — Electronic
Detonator Systems; Rodney Burke — Bulk Explosives –
Field Controls for Quality; John Watson — Importance of
Blaster’s Log; Frank Sames — Advanced Blasting Practices
– Support Systems and Emerging Roles of a Blaster; and
Doug Rudenko and Joe Crownover — Blasting Near Buried
Pipelines.
Sunday also included the regulatory panel discussion,
video roundup and welcome reception in the exhibit hall
where blasters had the opportunity to view the latest product innovations in blasting technology.
Bill Hissem presented training on drilling accuracy.

Almost 200 attended the blasters training seminar.

on moving 50 feet
of burden.
Attendees enjoyed a complimentary reception following
Saturday’s seminar.
