When I began working with ISTAT 10 years ago, I had no idea we
would become one of the leading aviation associations representing
this industry. I am extremely honored to have been a part of such a
great organization and would like to send a special thanks to the many
dedicated individuals who helped lead the way to our success. I also
want to say thanks to our valued members who continue to support
this important industry association. Without you, ISTAT would not be
what it is today.
Together, we have come a long way! I applaud the enthusiasm and
dedication of both the ISTAT and Foundation boards to ensure the
ISTAT brand continues its expansion around the globe. It could not
have been possible without our strategic focus on growth and becoming a global leader.
I am grateful for your confidence in me to stand at the helm of this
great organization during these growth years. It is gratifying to see
how we have excelled into new territory with new global conferences
and increased activity for the benefit of our members and industry.
While it was hard to envision ISTAT having a chalet, a conference in
Asia or Latin America, and Holiday Receptions around the globe, these
have undoubtedly became strong pillars of our success and well appreciated ISTAT activities. That said, it is also hard to conceive how ISTAT
Americas conference has grown to over 1,700 attendees (779 in 2006),
and ISTAT Europe today has almost 1,200 attendees (250 in 2006).
ISTAT has been much more than a job to me; it has been a labor
of love. I am most grateful for the many friendships I have gained
over the years while working with so many fantastic individuals and a
truly dedicated professional staff team. I will never be far away from
ISTAT. Something about this industry and organization just gets in
your blood. I wish you all the very best and am confident our new
executive director is ready for the tasks ahead.
