The website also includes information about the project's annual conferences on the Convention, two of which
have already been held at Oxford.
Academic issues presented at the conferences included Cape Town's effect on
conflicts of laws, electronic commerce,
interim relief and insolvency, intangibles,
public service, and jurisdiction among
other topics.
"Oxford is pleased to provide a forum
for the discussion of these cutting-edge
legal issues," said Louise Gullifer, the
Oxford Law Faculty academic lead for the
Academic Project.
Most of the papers presented at the
conferences are published in the Cape Town
Convention Journal (see photo on page 24)
with electronic access free to interested
readers via the website.
The Academic Project has received support from a number of prominent industry
organizations including the International
Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the

efficiency for aircraft owners in moving their
aircraft between jurisdictions around the
world, and that's clearly something that is
beneficial to all ISTAT members," said current ISTAT President Jep Thornton.
"Ours is a global industry, and we're
seeing that in how we're growing as an
organization and how our members around
the world benefit from being part of the
networking success around Cape Town,
which seems to be aligned with our mission and is clearly something worth our
investment," Thornton said.
