2. Casco Viejo
For members interested in Panama City's history, Casco Viejo is the perfect lens to view the past. The historic district of Panama City, Casco Viejo
hosts a number of restaurants, landmarks, bars, shops and churches, all with
the original architecture from hundreds of years ago. The city continues to
make efforts to restore the district, and it shows; very few cities make their
centuries-old buildings look so beautiful.

3. Panamá Viejo
The current Panama City came to fruition after a Welsh privateer and admiral of the Royal Navy named Henry Morgan sacked the original Panama City
and set it to flames, destroying the city almost in its entirety. What remains
of the original city can be seen in Panamá Viejo, including the Old Panama
Cathedral and ruins of old buildings. The site, along with the nearby Casco
Viejo, was dubbed a World Heritage Site in 1997 by UNESCO and highlights
the city's rich history and culture.

4. Avenida Balboa
Avenida Balboa lies in the heart of Panama City and offers a look at the city's
current and future development and growth. While numerous cars dominate the
road, adjacent sidewalks and walkways provide opportunities for scenic walks
and strolls along the water and skyscrapers that make up the city's impressive
skyline. On Sundays, part of the road is closed to let bikers, walkers, runners,
roller skaters and more traverse without worrying about traffic. Avenida
Balboa also leads to Casco Viejo, creating a perfect path to explore the city.

5. Soberania
National Park
The Soberania National
Park is a 45-minute drive from
Panama City, but the park is certainly worth the trek. The park
contains animals of all sorts
and sizes, notably over 525
species of birds (toucans, cuckoos, macaws and more), howler
monkeys, two- and three-toed
sloths, tamarins, jaguars, tapirs,
green iguanas and many more.
Visitors can see the entire park's
wildlife by hiking through the
rainforest and immersing themselves in Panama's authentic
flora and fauna.
