The impact of this kind of financial
support does not go unnoticed, nor can
it be undervalued; the level of assistance was echoed by Scott Daniels,
director of aviation marketing, RESIDCO.
"The support ISTAT provided to cover
expenses for interns was a wonderful
incentive and will hopefully encourage
further participation from ISTAT companies
in the future," he said.
Interns and employers alike are looking
forward to future participation in the program as interest in the 2015 summer program gathers pace. The internship program
acts as a perfect complement to classroom
studies, a point noted by Patrick Ryan,
senior vice president and chief technical
officer, Aviation Capital Group. "The internship provided an opportunity to enhance
classroom learning through practical
career-related work experience."
The process of candidate identification
starts early in the spring semester, and
the ISTAT intern system makes reviewing
and identifying potential intern candidates run smoothly. "ISTAT's internship
portal enables a flexible and efficient
candidate selection process by providing
access to candidate resumes, grade transcripts and other pertinent information
critical to the recruitment process," said
Steve Mason, vice president commercial
air, CIT Aerospace.

Employers gave glowing references
when speaking about their interns. Patrick
Ryan described Aviation Capital Group
intern Brooke Krinsky as "a fast learner
who quickly became a valuable asset in
completing the special projects assigned
to her."
"Her work performance was outstanding, and her enthusiasm toward learning
about aviation was refreshing," he said.
The experience gained through the
summer program is invaluable to the students and employers. One major point
that was reiterated by all of the employing organizations is that they used the
experience to help the interns connect
and network with other ISTAT and industry
members by bringing them on meetings
with airlines, manufacturers, suppliers and
leasing companies.

talented individuals enhances the foundation's increasing success and development of the students. "Because of the
experiences and knowledge I gained at
Aviation Capital Group, graduating this
December no longer seems so scary," said
intern Brooke Krinsky. "I feel prepared
and excited to apply what I've learned to
a full-time career. I couldn't have asked
for a better summer internship! I want to
thank the ISTAT Foundation for providing
me with a network of internship opportunities and connecting me with such an
incredible company."
