ISTAT Members Honored at Aviation Association Gala
Each year, the Greater Miami Aviation Association (GMAA) organizes a special
event for the aviation industry: the Greater Miami Aviation Association's
Wright Brothers Memorial Awards Gala, benefiting the GMAA-Batchelor
Aviation Scholarship Fund.
The highlight of the gala is the presentation of The Wright Brothers
Memorial Award, an impressive and beautiful silver trophy cup with the
engraved names of past recipients. GMAA's premier award is presented each
year to an individual whose substantial contributions to the aviation industry reflect favorably on the aviation community and the state of Florida.
This year, the GMAA selected Gary Spulak, president, Embraer North
America, former ISTAT board member, as the recipient of The Wright Brothers
Memorial Award. Fellow ISTAT member David P. Sutton, managing director,
aircraft acquisitions and sales, Federal Express Corporation, was also honored
with the Glenn Curtiss Award for innovation, customer support and product
quality and in the field of education.
