Ron has been a great coordinator and
quarterback of ISTAT. During his involvement, look at how the membership and
stature of ISTAT has grown. I think he's
been a tremendous asset to ISTAT, and
ISTAT wouldn't be the same today if it
wasn't for him. I take my hat off to him.

I must have been on a hundred
conference calls with Ron. He always
dialed in early, and I would usually
come on late. Instead of scolding me,
he would always yell, "Well Bob Brown,
how the hell are you?" I'm going to
miss that.

I have always enjoyed Ron's passion
and heart for our organization. First, as a
member at large in the ISTAT community,
I would enjoy seeing Ron's smiling face at
the entry of many of our receptions and
events as he was shaking hands and greeting guests. It amazed me at just how many
people he knew on a first-name basis. To
me, that showed his genuine passion and
commitment for our organization. Later, as
a Foundation trustee and now chairman, I
see even more of that passion and commitment. Ron is extremely dedicated and loves
this organization. He loves the people and
he loves the groups that our Foundation
serves. It has been a pleasure to work with
him, and he will certainly be missed.
I had the privilege of getting to
know Ron very well during my time
as chairman of the ISTAT Foundation.
Ron was invaluable to me personally,
and the Foundation generally, in guiding us to make appropriate decisions
and ensure that all perspectives were
taken into account during the decision-making process. Equally important was the friendship offered by
Ron and the unwavering commitment
to the Foundation, which went way
beyond his contracted duties towards
the Foundation. Ron taught me a huge
amount, for which I am very grateful, and I wish him a long, happy and
healthy retirement. He will be missed.
