GOvERNOR'S race by DL Stokelorn the Louisiana Gubernatorial Race Quiet So Far singularity of the 2015 louisiana gubernatorial race hit Bernie pinsonat in early august when he bumped into some old friends. as is customary, pinsonat's friends asked him what he had been up to. 48 | loGa INDUSTRY REPORT | Fall 2015 As a partner at Southern Media and Opinion Research, Pinsonat has worn the hats of pollster and political analyst since 1990, but when he said he was working on campaigns, his friends expressed surprise. The profile of Louisiana's gubernatorial race had been sufficiently low to that point that Pinsonat already knew most voters were unaware of the upcoming election. But these were educated, upper-middle-income people, a couple of them business owners. No matter, the race was not on their radars, either. "That was absolutely eye-opening," Pinsonat says. "Normally at this point in a governor's race, I will have people asking constantly who will be the next governor. People have not been asking. The race is dead."
