Further, for a company to attract
talent today, corporate leadership must
stop talking about being innovative and
creative. Instead, he asserts, leaders have
to not only talk the talk, but also personally encourage everyone else within
the organization to do the same. Having
led a cultural transformation at Hytrol,
Goodner knows this first-hand.
"As the leader, you have to spend time
on the floor. You have to talk to your people at every level and you have to engage
them, because people at all levels-especially millennials-want to be involved,"
he says. "You've got to first build the right
culture and then you'll get the talent,
because once people outside your company hear about what you're doing, they
will want to be part of your team."
