#day in the life STAYING POSITIVE IN POLAND NAME: Wojciech Liszka MPI ROLE: MPI Poland President DAY JOB: Director of Sales & Marketing, Radisson Blu Hotel, Krakow BASED IN: Krakow, Poland DAY IN THE LIFE: My day normally starts around 6:30, when I run to the gym and workout or take an hour run around the Krakow Old Town. Living in the middle of UNESCO Heritage Site makes running extremely pleasant and gives a chance to discover something new every day. Training is important to me as I need to keep in good shape for my International Basketball Referee games. Basketball is definitely my second personality. Once done with running, I can walk to the office, which is only located around the corner. Full of energy, I'm meeting my team for a daily briefing at 8:45 and try to share my positive energy collected during the workout. Once ensuring the team is doing the job, I can focus on the key activities of the day. As the time until lunch is most productive for my brain, I try to maximize efficiency and focus on key actions driving the growth of our business. This can be related to new products and services we want to implement or meeting key clients to discuss important contracts. Once the lunch is finished around 1 p.m., I check with my team and dedicate some time to in-house duties, reporting, etc. This includes also checking my MPI mailbox and pushing things forward in this area. Time between 5 and 6 p.m. is usually dedicated to developing running concepts I have initiated. Poland Business Run is the biggest charity running relay in the country, taking place in seven cities with 20,000 runners forecasted for 2015. Due to extremely short distance between the office and my apartment, I usually return home around 6:30 p.m. Krakow Old Town has more than 500 restaurants, bars and cafes, which offer a variety of options and make me and my girlfriend lazy in terms of cooking at home. We normally try to find a nice spot and we have our favourite ones (Italian, Thai or sushi). Having a walk afterwards is healthy and always brings me lots of joy and laughter. A movie in the evening is what my partner likes much more than watching basketball and preparing for my next game, but she sometimes needs to accept compromise. Having a partner combined with my hotel job, MPI volunteering, basketball officiating and organizing charity events is not easy, but it is always great to wake up again together before going to a morning training session.  @ info@mpigny.org 25
