FEATURE | ELECTION 2015 NAIFA Presents Candidates for Election One candidate for secretary, one candidate for treasurer, and five candidates for five trustee spots. D elegates representing state and local associations will elect their new leadership at the NAIFA 2015 Career Conference and Annual Meeting. Juli McNeely, CFP, CLU, LUTCF,  will become NAIFA's immediate past president, and Jules Gaudreau, Jr., ChFC, CIC, will become the president of the association. The Committee on Governance is recommending one candidate for secretary and five candidates for five trustee spots. 52 ADVISOR TODAY | July/August 2015 SECRETARY Keith M. Gillies, CFP, MBA Keith M. Gillies, CFP, MBA, is the Managing Principal of Wealth Solutions, LLC and The Pension Center, LLC, and co-founder of United Wealth Advisors Group, LLC. He began his career as a financial advisor in 1981 with a commitment to providing advice and strategies to individuals, professionals and business owners to help them achieve their personal, business and charitable goals. Gillies is very active in his community, church and the financial services profession. For over 20 years, he chaired the St. John the Baptist Parish (County) Planning and Zoning Commission and the Select Presidential Advisory Committee for Finance. He also served the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community by chairing the Pastoral Finance Committee for seven years and he served as the basketball program coordinator and coach for 16 years. In 2013, Gillies was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by St. Joan of Arc, the highest of all lay honors. Professionally, Gillies served as president of NAIFA for both greater New Orleans and Louisiana. In 2008, he was elected to the national board of NAIFA, serving two consecutive two-year terms. His honors include NAIFA-greater New Orleans Member of the Year in 1997; NAIFALouisiana's President's Award in 2004; and NAIFA-Louisiana's Arthur Abramson Award in 2007. He is also a life and qualifying member of MDRT, with status as a Top of the Table member. Gillies served many years in field leadership with the Ameritas Group of Companies, including chairing the Broker-Dealer Task Force. He also chaired the Ameritas Field Advisory Cabinet, an elected team of advisors who work directly with the Ameritas group of companies' senior executives to help shape strategies and product development. In 2013, Ameritas awarded Gillies the Lester Rosen Humanitarian and Achievement Award for service to his community and to the industry. A lifelong resident of the greater New Orleans area, Gillies resides in New Orleans with his wife, Cindy, and their five children. He enjoys reading, golf, cycling and traveling with friends and family.
