Night Construction &Safety ❱❱ Night coNstructioN brings more challenges and hazards for workers. Lower light conditions, the driving public, and worker fatigue can all contribute to an already dangerous workspace. This issue of Asphalt Pavement focuses on safety issues affecting the work zone. One DOT is looking at contracts in a new way to help prevent work zone intrusion prevention. Public traffic management may be about the directing traffic safely around the construction zone, but it has a huge impact on the work zone. Internal Traffic Control Plans are a very hot topic these days since OSHA began looking more closely at companies that may not be doing all they should to protect their workers on the job site. Please read these articles and make use of the resources listed. Understanding safety principles and making use of education resources are key to keeping workers safe. For readers interested in nighttime constructionspecific articles, please check out the Nov/Dec 2014 issue of Asphalt Pavement.
