all Hands on Deck
JaMey K. SanDeRS
Choctaw Transportation Company, Inc.
JamEy sandErs grEw up in rural
West Tennessee. Raised by hardworking parents, he and his sister
learned early on that nothing in life
is free and only through dedication
could they accomplish their life goals.
By his freshman year in high school,
Jamey decided that with his love of
math and science he would pursue a
degree in civil engineering. While at
the University of Tennessee, he realized his love would be construction.
Fast forward to today, Jamey is vice
president of Choctaw Transportation
Company, Inc. in Dyersburg,
Tennessee, and he believes the industry needs "all hands on deck" to tackle
the obstacles it faces. "Everything from
finding a qualified workforce to providing healthcare for our employees is
critical for the immediate future," he
says. "Being a part of the AGC team
has never been more important. Be
involved in the process or be prepared
to go out of business."
Constructor caught up with Sanders
recently and asked him to share more
of his industry insights.
Jamey Sanders overlooks one of Choctaw's geogrid
composite and stone placement projects.
