BOND'S RHODE ISLAND OFFICE WINS PROVIDENCE
COLLEGE SCIENCE COMPLEX PROJECT

SKANSKA, A MEMBER OF multiple AGC chapters, is

Providence College has selected the firm to provide construction management services for the expansion of its Science Complex.
This is a milestone win for the Providence, Rhode Island office, as they
celebrate their one-year anniversary. It is also a testament to the strong
leadership and experience of its Rhode Island-based team, whose efforts continue to expand BOND's service offerings throughout the Northeast footprint.
"We are excited to establish our relationship with Providence College
through the construction and renovation of this multi-phased, science
complex project," said Dan Ramos, BOND's regional manager, Providence,
Rhode Island. "We are confident that our team's experience completing
construction within sensitive and complex academic environments, coupled
with a close attention to detail, will translate into a successful project for
Providence College."
The new Providence College multi-phased, science complex project
includes: two building additions, plus renovations to science classrooms
in Albertus, SOWA and Hickory Halls. The revitalized complex will feature
new classrooms, a lecture hall, academic offices, laboratories, mechanical
upgrades, rooftop observatory and telescope storage area.
With site mobilization spring 2017, the project is slated for completion
June 2018. Design and project partners include: S/L/A/M Collaborative,
Farrar & Associates, Sterling Engineering, Caputo and Wick, Wilkinson
Associates and The Skyline Group.

BOND, A MEMBER OF multiple AGC chapters, announced recently that

renovating Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Terminal 4 N4 International Concourse.
The project consists of interior improvements at the
basement and apron levels of Terminal 4 Concourse 4
North. Work includes modernizing escalators and baggage claim carousels, remodeling Customs and Border
Protection (CBP) offices, and reconfiguring primary and
secondary screening and inspection areas for Customs.
"Our team is focused on working with great respect
to the specialized needs that come with active Customs
and Border Protection federal inspection stations,"
said Skanska Executive Vice President and General
Manager Ross Vroman. "Any time we work in an airport
environment, we collaborate with airport stakeholders
to ensure that construction does not mean disruption
for Customs officials, airlines, airport workers and
passengers."
Skanska, which has been active in both the building and civil construction markets in Phoenix for many
years, is based at 4742 North 24th Street in Phoenix,
just south of Camelback Road.

GASTON ELECTRICAL
PARTICIPATES IN OSHA 2017
NATIONAL SAFETY STAND-DOWN
GASTON ELECTRICAL CO., INC., an AGC of

Massachusetts member, recently took part in
the 2017 National Safety Stand-Down. The
week-long construction safety event, which
ran from May 8-12, is organized by OSHA -
The United States Department of Labor and
partners including the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and
the National Occupational Research Agenda
(NORA).
The National Safety Stand-Down is an
opportunity for construction companies to

speak with their employees about safety on
the jobsite through various programs such as
toolbox talks, policy reviews, and equipment
inspections. This year marked Gaston's third
time as a participant - which is a testament
to the company's commitment to ensuring
safe work environments for all employees
and project partners.
Throughout the week, Rick Coakley,
corporate safety director at Gaston, visited various ongoing projects and led Fall
Prevention training for the electricians on
site. Highlights of the week were visits
to active sites including Standish Hall at
Harvard, AMGEN in Kendall Square, Myles

Standish Hall at Boston University, The
Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre at Boston
University, and Wayfair in Copley Square.
"Participating in OSHA's 2017 National
Safety Stand-Down for Fall Prevention was
of high importance to our field team and
Gaston leadership," said Coakley. "When
dealing with any elevation, ladders, or even
smaller tripping hazards, it's essential that
we identify problems and train our teams
to avoid and mitigate any potential threats.
At Gaston, we place tremendous emphasis
on safety training, and we work tirelessly to
continuously improve our practices at every
step. We are proud to join premier general
contractors and other subcontractors across
the nation in recognition of this important
safety week event - and we'll continue to
promote this message throughout the year."
Upon completion of the 2017 National
Safety Stand-Down, Gaston was presented
with a Certificate of Recognition from The
United States Department of Labor, OSHA,
