Copyright Seals are required to be used
with the printed electronic versions of CCDC & CCA documents.
If you're planning on signing a CCDC or CCA standard document,
make sure you have ALL THE FACTS.
What is a CCDC/CCA Copyright Seal?
It is a 1"x2½" adhesive-backed paper decal with the copyright message, a CCDC
or CCA document number and document date. Each document has its own
Copyright Seal. For example, CCDC 2 - 2008 must be used with the CCDC 2 - 2008
Copyright Seal. The Copyright Seal's colour is coded to correspond to the cover of
the contract for easy reference.
When is a CCDC/CCA Copyright Seal to be used?
All executed CCDC & CCA contracts must be affixed with a Copyright Seal. The
absence of the Copyright Seal constitutes an illegal use of a CCDC/CCA contract.
Only sign a CCDC/CCA contract if the document cover page bears a Copyright Seal.
Where should a Copyright Seal be affixed?
A CCDC or CCA Copyright Seal must be affixed to the front page of the contract.
Why do we have to use a CCDC/CCA Copyright Seal?
All revenue generated from the sales of CCDC/CCA Copyright Seals is used in the
development of new documents and maintenance of existing documents.
The Copyright Seal is also important to the parties of the contract as it
demonstrates their intention that the executed CCDC/CCA contract is accurate
and is an unamended version except to the extent that any alterations, additions
or modifications are set forth in supplementary conditions.
Where do we purchase CCDC/CCA Copyright Seals?
All CCDC/CCA Copyright Seals can be purchased at your regional construction
association, a list of which is available on www.cca-acc.com.
