Ontario Pipeline - Spring 2015 - (Page 11)

OWWEA PRESIDENT'S REPORT OWWEA: Part of an industry Doing the Right Thing g reetings fellow Water Professionals, As we continue preparations for the exciting Ontario Water Conference & Tradeshow, it is healthy practice to remind ourselves of the great strides that our industry continues to make and the incredible value that Ontario's water professionals bring to the public. Ontario is blessed to have global leaders in research, engineering, management, policy, innovation and manufacturing. It is always evidenced by the strong Canadian presence that attends the AWWA national conferences, producing papers and participating in the tradeshows. Without a doubt, we should be proud of the quality coming from Ontario. As an association, the OWWEA and its member companies strive to contribute to an industry doing the right thing. The primary vehicle for this is our Annual Tradeshow that is held in conjunction with the Annual Water Conference, where all of the branches of the industry have an opportunity to meet in a setting that is conducive to learning and growing as a team. It is where technology and innovation has a chance to flourish with the people that implement and operate facilities. It is the place to be. We are happy to announce that booth spaces are filling up very fast for 2015's event and we anticipate a great deal of excitement at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. Our member companies will be displaying new technologies, new services and new ways of achieving the overall goal of safe drinking water. We have dedicated a portion of the tradeshow floor this year that will stand out as an area for companies to highlight their exciting offerings. And, as always, networking opportunities will be plentiful with a Sunday night meet and greet reception on the tradeshow floor, our ever-popular Casino night, and our 8th Annual Charity Golf tournament at Royal Woodbine. A final note for our member companies: details regarding the Annual General Meeting can be found in the Equipment Association pages in this issue. We will once again have tradeshow expert Barry Siskind put on a training session to help us maximize our efforts at a tradeshow and we will also be electing new directors to the board. Nominations or questions can be submitted to Kelly Fransen kelly.fransen@owwea.ca. We'll see you in Toronto!
