feature The Launch of the APGA Community T he American Public Gas Association is pleased to announce a special new membership benefit! At APGA, we continually strive to provide the most valuable and meaningful resources to our members who look to APGA for networking and educational opportunities. For this reason, we launched the APGA Community, an online tool designed exclusively for APGA members that allows you to connect with other municipal natural gas professionals, search the member directory, ask for advice and share expertise. This summer, APGA massively overhauled its online platforms to better connect our members with each other and to promote greater learning throughout our industry. We have redesigned www.apga.org to be mobilefriendly and meet user experience best practices. We also upgraded our membership database to provide new online benefits such as the option for an employee to register multiple people for APGA events at once. Lastly, our flagship membership initiative was the creation of the APGA Community at community.apga.org. The APGA Community is an exciting new platform that provides all APGA members with an environment to connect, engage and share information and best practices in real time. Some of the benefits and features of the APGA Community are to: * Learn about important issues affecting your utility * Ask questions and get informed answers * Build your natural gas network * Receive daily updates straight to your email * Post to the discussions directly from your email * Browse the online APGA Member Directory Since the member-wide launch on July 27, there have been over 30 new discussion threads started on topics 24 THE SOURCE | THE vOiCE and CHOiCE Of pUbliC gaS such as odor fade in newly installed pipe, CNG rates, causes of damage to polyethylene pipe, and gas quality issues. In the APGA Community's first month, we have seen: * Over 100 discussion posts; * Over 1,330 logins; and, * Over 275 contact connections between APGA Community users. All APGA members were enrolled in the APGA Community and receive a daily email aggregating the past 24 hours of all discussion activity by default. The digest is an efficient way to scan the day's discussions on the APGA Community. APGA members have the option to switch their email preferences to Real-Time, Daily Digest, and no email to allow you to tailor the discussion to match your own preferences. If you have a LinkedIn account, save time by uploading your information from LinkedIn. 3. Post a message. Have a question? Your colleagues have the answer! Go to Participate, then Post a Message to send a note to your colleagues in your communities. 4. Share.
