Voorhees and Forst to receive ASPI Awards
Steve Voorhees, chief executive officer,
WestRock, has been awarded the ASPI 2016
Customer Executive of the Year Award, given
annually to an executive to recognize extraordinary effectiveness in working with a range of
suppliers to enhance productivity, efficiency
and effectiveness using a wide spectrum of
supplied products and services.
Voorhees was previously chief executive
officer of RockTenn, where he also served in various executive
leadership roles including president and chief operating officer,
executive vice president and chief financial officer, and chief
administrative officer. Before joining RockTenn, Voorhees held
operations and executive roles at Sonat Inc., a diversified energy
company headquartered in Birmingham, Ala.
ASPI Holds Largest Customer
Alignment meeting in
More than 120 supplier executives gathered in the auditorium
of Georgia-Pacific Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, in October to
hear from Georgia-Pacific's senior leadership team. Georgia-Pacific
executives shared their vision for growth, and how suppliers needed
to embrace Georgia-Pacific's Market Based Management philosophy. Learn more about this meeting in the January/February issue
Don Forst, director-global sourcing, International
Paper, is the recipient of the ASPI 2016 Excellence in
Leadership Award, which honors leaders in the pulp
and paper industry who have demonstrated exceptional and inspiring leadership. Forst was selected
for this award because of his reputation within the
supplier community for providing great guidance
and leadership when working with suppliers.
Both awards will be presented at the ASPI 2016 Spring Meeting,
February 24-26, 2016, in Miami, Florida. Each award recipient will
also give a presentation on the successes at their companies. Make
plans to attend and honor the accomplishments of these great leaders.
In addition to a formal program, there will be ample time to network
at two receptions and dinners, plus Thursday afternoon activities.
