AWA R D W I N N E R S CCA's 2013 Annual Achievement Award Winners DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD Michael Prior, President & CEO, Atlantic Tele-Network As CCA's 2012/2013 Chairman of the Board, Michael worked diligently on CCA's advocacy agenda. Under his leadership, CCA saw significant policy wins including interoperability. A calm nature, dedication, positive attitude and vision are qualities one looks for in a good leader, and Michael possessed all of these characteristics during his tenure as Chairman. OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Michael Kennedy, Director of Business Development, Carolina West Wireless Michael has contributed countless hours to CCA initiatives, which is most notably seen through his work on the Events Committee and the Business Innovation Group. His work planning and assisting the educational sessions at CCA events, along with his dedication to finding innovative solutions for CCA carrier members, greatly contributes to the association. NEKO HAMLETT ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD Howard Sears, formerly Wireless CTO for U.S. Major Accounts, Alcatel-Lucent Howard tirelessly promotes CCA within his own company and to all prospective carrier and associate members. He has generously volunteered many hours of his time on CCA committees, including the Events Committee and Associate Member Committee, and his hard-working, dedication to the CCA community does not go unnoticed by those around him. OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD MTPCS dba Cellular One Cellular One has an outstanding record of achievement in raising both awareness and funds for a number of charities in Montana, Texas, and around the country. Since 2008, Cellular One and its affiliated charity, the Family Support Foundation for Mental Illness, have undertaken a number of initiatives to support individuals and families coping with mental illness, including several annual fundraisers and donations. INDUSTRY INNOVATION AWARD Range Networks Range Networks was awarded for their work on the only complete commercial open-source cellular system. Thanks to their innovations, rapidly deployed wireless systems can easily be made available to customers in remote rural areas at low cost, as well as to first responders in emergency situations.
