THEME: ON THE EDGE: MEETING CONSUMER DEMAND Chat Mobility Utilizes Multi-Faceted Plan to Attract & Retain Customers By: Brian Spurgeon General Manager, Chat Mobility 2 013 was an epic year for regional wireless carrier, Chat Mobility. In a market that is saturated with wireless phone users, we were able to differentiate and distinguish our company and products while attracting new customers, in record numbers, and also retain existing customers. Network upgrades, new phone and rate plan introductions combined with a strong public relations campaign provided a winning strategy for 2013. The year began with a network expansion that included the roll out of 4G LTE nationwide service to our subscribers. Simultaneously, the introduction of new rate plans, designed to provide unlimited nationwide pricing, and the most competitive data pricing in the region were launched. The simplified approach of offering unlimited calling on all rate plans for both smartphones and basic phones provided sales representatives with a competitive edge. We also capitalized on our shared data plans, which were extremely popular among consumers. The introduction of our 4G LTE nationwide network, together with marketing and customer education on our new rate and data plans, was a huge success. When designing our plans, we looked for a solution that considered the competitive environment and our customers' calling patterns and needs, then designed a solution that was simple and straightforward. During the 3Q of 2013, we executed our iPhone marketing plan with the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. The response from consumers was phenomenal. Our marketing strategy offers consumers the latest smartphones on the market at the best price, and our "Meet or Beat" price comparison ensures our customers get the lowest possible rate on phones. The combination of the latest phones, a nationwide network and competitive rates has proven successful. Also in 2013, we teamed up with Nashville Recording Artist, Rachel Holder, to initiate a "No Texting and Driving Campaign." The campaign included educational PSAs, press releases and social media posts. We then invited Ms. Holder to Iowa where she met with students at local high school events, which included a performance and discussion on the importance of safe driving habits. The same message was communicated at Chamber of Commerce sponsored events throughout Chat Mobility's service area. The "No Texting and Driving" campaign was well received and will continue to be reinforced within the market. Rachel Holder did an incredible job speaking to the students and adults emphasizing safe driving habits are to be taken seriously. By being intentional about our investments, product launches, and community outreach, we feel Chat Mobility has a solid plan to meet and adapt to consumer demand within our service area.
