Honorary Doctor of Technology,
BCIT, Medal of the Order of St. John,
the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal

Powell retires as President of
London Drugs

The Louis family announced at
the beginning of the year that as
of February 23, 2014, Canadian retail icon, Wynne Powell, will step
down as President, CEO of London Drugs and TLD Computers.
A statement issued by the company said that, "After 32 years of
inspired and innovative leadership, Wynne is looking forward
to investing more time travelling
with his wife Glenys, spending
time with his family and focusing
on his lifetime passion for photography. Given the portfolio of
various roles he will be involved
in he shows no signs of slowing
down, however, it's hoped this
latest transition will allow him
to have a somewhat less onerous
schedule and time to devote to his
many personal pursuits."
It is a difficult task to encapsulate the legacy Powell has created
in a few words. But, Diane J. Brisebois, President and CEO of Retail
Council of Canada, says that the
work he has done will speak for itself over time.
"Wynne has always been tireless in his quest to innovate and inspire," she says. "The relationships
that he's built with his employees,
customers, vendors and partners
is amazing and speaks volumes
about the person and professional
that he is."

recipient of the CGA's R.W. Caulfield
Award for leadership.

Wynne will continue as President
and CEO of both London Air Services and London Enterprises (Sonora
Resort). Wynne will also continue
his many commitments to community groups and various boards.
