How Ace Hardware Equips 4,600 Stores
With Power Data Tools
While striving to manage all of the information
required to keep the company's supply chain
running smoothly, Ace Hardware saw it was
necessary to retool its strategy for analyzing,
visualizing, and presenting data.
Information Builders' WebFOCUS business
intelligence (BI) and analytics platform helps Ace
manage internal operations while enabling retailers
and wholesalers to boost revenue and streamline
their supply chains. WebFOCUS provides guided
self-service analytics for 15,000 corporate users,
customers, retail partners, and suppliers, for
everything from inventory movement and retail
performance, to promotion and sales success.
According to Tim Brynda, software engineering
consultant at Ace Hardware, Ace is glad to have an
"ERP-savvy" environment that can integrate
various types of data into intuitive charts, graphs,
and reports.
There are four basic groups that depend on
Information Builders' software:

Ace stores, where merchandising managers

perform guided self-service analytics about
inventory, promotions, and sales

Field staff, who oversee activities at the stores and

commonly analyze data on retail performance

Ace vendors, who monitor how their inventory

is moving
Q

Corporate users in finance, marketing,

advertising, and merchandising, who need
operational information to do their jobs
