BOA R D OF DI R E CT OR S MeeT I TSAe'S neweST BoArd MeMBerS n 2015, TSAE approved a change in the timing of the Board of Director terms in an effort to have new Board members elected and installed in office prior to the Board's summer retreat. This change ensures the new Board has ownership of the strategic initiatives and annual goals set forth at the Board retreat and gives them time to gain a better understanding of the association's operations before the annual budget is presented at the December Board meeting. Our newest Board members were installed at a Board meeting on June 13. Joe Bedsole, CTA Director of State Accounts Arlington Convention & visitors Bureau Joe Bedsole, CTA, has been with the Arlington CVB for more than eight years and has spent more than 20 years in the hotel, CVB and association world. He is a previous board member for the Houston Society of Association Executives and the Society of Government Meeting Professionals Austin Capitol Chapter, and he is also a previous board president of the Austin/ San Antonio chapter of Meeting Professionals International. In 2013, Joe was the honored with TSAE's Distinguished Affiliate of the Year award. He is a native Austinite and was educated at the University of Texas at Austin and Texas State in San Marcos with a major in broadcast journalism. He currently resides in Western Travis County with his partner Jeff Sikes. Alicia Dover, CAE Executive Director Associated Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors of Texas Alicia Dover, CAE, works to bring attention to the demand for more workers in the plumbing, heating and cooling industry in Texas. By working with the contractors she represents, they reach out to the students at the middle and high school to share the benefits of this viable career option. She and her staff facilitate the writing of an annual continuing education textbook, along with the coordination of many seminars, test preparation courses and business training specific to the industry. Alicia holds a B.B.A. in Business Administration. In her spare time, Alicia leads a Senior Women's Group at her church and enjoys learning and laughing with this "seasoned" group of individuals. She and her husband have raised four children and became grandparents in 2016. 16 July/August 2016/Association LEADERSHIP Tiffany McGee, CAE CEO Texas Trial Lawyers Association Tiffany McGee, CAE, is chief executive officer of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, a professional association of more than 2,400 attorneys and a 21 member staff. Prior to assuming the position of CEO, Tiffany was a nationally recognized membership development specialist. Adopted by the American Association for Justice in 2009, her membership model is still followed today. As CEO, she has led the TTLA's renewed focus on strategic planning, membership services and financial health resulting in record results in only two years. In addition to her TSAE role, Tiffany serves as Treasurer/Executive Committee member of the National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives. Tracy Tomson Executive Director Restaurant facility Management Association Tracy Tomson has been with RFMA since its inception 11 years ago. Her background was primarily in the radio industry, working as a promotion director for more than 10 years. She used her marketing, eventplanning and organizational skills to help build a fledgling association in an industry she hadn't previously known existed. RFMA has grown to nearly 1,400 members since that time and her goal is to continue to grow her association and to serve the members, using the best tools and services available. A proud graduate of the University of Texas, Tracy is married to her high school sweetheart and has three daughters. She currently sits on the board of the Plano ISD Education Foundation and the Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical Center.
