This will be the first of four magazines that we will publish this year, and is in addition to our electronic publication, which launched last September and is sent to industry executives every two weeks. The magazine will complement our electronic publication by offering indepth regional reports, trend studies, category analysis, a focus on wellness and spas and incisive retail and travel-retail coverage. In this launch issue, we dissect the performance of Europe’s big-five markets, analyze the trends in color cosmetics and the outlook for the category in 2010. We also look into how the recession has impacted the wellness industry and ask LVMH-owned retailer Sephora about the company’s views on discounting, private label and how distribution will develop. The magazine content will be delivered in the same no-nonsense and questioning tone that is found in our fortnightly publication, and of course will provide an international perspective, which is now vital to our industry. When it comes to international business, we will be where the action is—the BW Confidential magazine will be distributed at more than 15 trade shows and events around the world.
