Fragrance
French brand Carven (Groupe Jacques Bogart) is looking to create a
third fragrance pillar with its new launch Carven L'Eau de Toilette. The
new scent comes just one year after the launch of Carven Le Parfum,
which along with classic line Ma Griffe, form the brand's two main
fragrance lines. Carven L'Eau de Toilette is described as a fresh, floral
musk scent with top notes of lemon and peony, a heart of freesia and
white hyacinth and a base of white musk and amber. It was created by
perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.
In France, the fragrance launched exclusively at concept store Colette
in Paris at the end of February, and will roll out to Sephora in April. In the
US, the brand has an exclusive with Saks for six months and will then
roll the fragrance out to other department stores in the country.

French jewelry brand Cartier is launching
a new fragrance this spring, called Cartier
La Panthère. The fragrance, composed by
in-house perfumer Mathilde Laurent, is
a re-imagined version of the first Cartier
fragrance, which was inspired by the
panther and originally launched in the 80s.
The floral scent has a heart of gardenia,
and a cyprus, floral and musk accord. It
comes in a geometric glass bottle that
draws its inspiration from Cubism and is
topped with a gold metal cap. La Panthère's
ad campaign is directed by Sean Ellis and
features model Erin Wasson.

French brand Sisley is launching a new
women's fragrance this spring called Eau
Tropicale. The floral fragrance takes its
inspiration from a tropical rainforest, with top
notes of hibiscus, passion flower and ginger,
a heart of tuberose and a base of cedar and
patchouli. It was composed by Domitille Bertier
from IFF. Eau Tropicale is the brand's sixth
fragrance line.
Sisley managing director Philippe d'Ornano
says the brand's fragrance business has seen
35% growth over the past five years and that
the segment now represents 20% of its sales
in Europe.

Burberry launched a women's version of Brit Rhythm in February,
the brand's first feminine fragrance since it took its beauty business
in-house in April 2013. The new fragrance is the women's counterpart
to Brit Rhythm for men, which launched last September. The fragrance
is described as a powdery floral.
The fragrance's communication campaign is largely digital, according
to the company. Users can pre-order a scented Brit Rhythm fragrance
bottle tattoo on burberry.com, retailer websites and on digital ads.
In-store, shoppers can scan QR codes or access content on their
smartphones by visiting thisisbrit.com. At major international retailers,
they can take pictures in Brit Rhythm photo booths and share them on
social networks.
