NEW The HIPPO 1064-27 Advantage OEM/Industrial design for 24/7 operation Long life ProLite® diodes for low cost of operation High average power >27 W at 100 kHz for high throughput High peak power and short pulse width to minimize heat affected zones Superior pulse-to-pulse energy stability for clean and consistent processing The Spectra-Physics HIPPO™ 1064-27 laser builds upon the proven performance of the highly successful HIPPO diode-pumped solid state Q-switched laser family. With one of the largest installed bases of industrial DPSS lasers, the HIPPO lasers set the standard for performance and reliability among solar cell and microelectronics manufacturers. With >27 W at 100 kHz, the HIPPO 1064-27 laser offers higher power at a lower cost-per-watt, making the it the ideal laser for high-throughput applications, such as scribing P1 layers in amorphous silicon and cadmium telluride based solar cell manufacturing. The HIPPO laser’s short pulse width and high peak power result in a smaller heat affected zone and reduced recast material for clean scribe lines. The high beam quality of the HIPPO DPSS laser (M2 <1.2) offers some key advantages compared to pulsed fiber laser technology, including: • Significantly better depth of focus to allow precise machining over varying substrate thicknesses. • Narrower scribe lines resulting in higher yield. • Lower unit-to-unit variance among lasers means more consistent processing results and higher uptime. Applications Scribing of thin film solar cells Silicon wafer dicing HIPPO 1064-27 Performance at High Repetition Rate (100–200 kHz) Enables Faster Scribe Speed and Higher Throughput. Ceramic scribing Flexible circuit processing De-flashing electronics package leads IC package singulation Marking on various metals and plastics Scribing of ~50 µm wide, ~0.5 µm deep lines on tin oxide (SnO, typical P1 layer for a:Si and Cd:Te thin film PV cells). Scribe speed 8 m/s, PRF 200 kHz. WEB See our website for more info.
