M O T I O N C O N T R O L The New Focus™ Picomotor™ actuators are ideal devices for motorizing fine-positioning stages and mounts in your optical or mechanical systems. They can be used with our optomechanical translation stages or your own custom devices. They have better than 30 nm resolution with minimal backlash, and can exert a 5 lb (22 N) force. Moreover, they have exceptional long-term stability and the ability to hold their position with no power applied. These last two features make the Picomotor actuators unique among motion-control devices and ideal for typical set-and-hold applications. Such applications include precision control of sample holders inside cold and/or vacuum chambers, hands-off adjustment of hard-to-reach mirror mounts, or adjustments of optical mounts that are sensitive to forces applied while twisting a knob (for instance optimizing the alignment of a laser cavity or adjusting the pointing of a beam over a long distance). A motorized Pint-sized mount is used to align the probe beam in a pump-probe demonstration. The standard sized shanks of the Models 830X and 12 x 0.5 mm threading of the Models 832X let them fit into standard micrometer mounting holes. The Model 8353 Tiny Picomotor, is a solution for even the smallest application. For rotation without translation, use the Model 8341 rotating shaft. Use these Picomotor actuators with our Model 8753 Intelligent Picomotor (iPico™) driver or Model 8703 TTL/Analog driver WEB See our website for more info. Please click here. iPico™ New Focus™ Intelligent Picomotor™ Modules Drive up to six Picomotor actuators simultaneously with a handpad or joystick. a Model 8755 power supply and all required mounting and interface cables to make installation easy. Even though the kit is configured out of the box for manual control with a handpad, you can easily configure it for computer control by using an Ethernet cable or, for RS-232 control, a null modem cable. To expand the kit for driving more Picomotor actuators, order the desired number of Model 8753 iPico drivers and an equivalent number of Model 8760 assembly kits. Call us for more information on how to drive even more Picomotor actuator-driven products with additional driver models and accessories. To control up to three individual Picomotor actuators choose the Three-Axis iPico Driver Kit Model 8763-KIT. Six-Axis iPico Driver Kit The New Focus™ Model 8766-KIT iPico™ kit enables you to drive up to six Picomotor actuators simultaneously with a handpad or joystick. Just plug in the included power supply and your Picomotor actuator-equipped components, and you’re ready to go. The Model 8766-KIT includes a network controller (Model 8752) and two 3-motor drivers (Models 8753). In addition, the kit has WEB See our website for more info. Please click here.
