Previously we only supplied 400 watt water-cooled detector, but the new Model 818P-500-55 thermal detector can handle up to 500 W of continuous optical power with a cooling fan, instead. It also features a large 55 mm diameter active area and very flat responses from the broad wavelength range between 190 nm– 20 µm. 100 mW minimum measurable power with 8 kW/cm2 maximum power density at 1.064 µm, cw. NEW It includes a DB15 connector with an internal EEPROM for storing factory calibration data. Compatible with Newport's 1936-C/2936-C, 1928-C, 1918-C, 842-PE, and 1916-C Optical Power Meters. When using with Newport's 1835-C/2935-C, can use the 818P-DIN adaptor cable (ordered separately). A 1/4-20 tapped hole is on the detector head for mounting it on a post holder or onto a fixture. Calibration of the thermopile detector is required annually to assure NIST traceability. WEB See our website for more info. It can handle up to 4 kW when illumination is limited up to 5 minutes. The detector is carefully designed such that the detector performance is not affected by the cooling water temperature. High quality absorbers are featured in the detector that exhibits the highest damage threshold in industry. It is ideal for lasers with a very high optical output power, such as CO 2 lasers and fiber lasers. Two output connection options are available in the product: an attached cable with a DB15 connector (for use with a Newport optical power meter) and a USB port (for direct computer interface without a power meter). The DB15 connector houses an internal EEPROM for storing factory calibration information. If it is used with a Newport power meter, electrical power must be supplied to the detector via a USB cable, either from a computer or from an adapter, for example, Model USB-CH. 1/4-20 tapped hole. Calibration of the thermopile detector is required annually to assure NIST traceability. WEB See our website for more info. Please click here.
