LA FRENCH CONNECTION !

Décidément, le record de France de la plus grande formation en freefly a la peau dure...
2020 devait être l'année d'un nouveau record, mais la crise sanitaire a contraint les organisateurs
à repousser le projet en 2021. Gageons qu'il n'en sera que plus réussi, car les entraînements se
poursuivent. Qui plus est, ce projet de record français initié par l'association Avignon Parachutisme SC420
bonifie avec le temps. Il a pris sous son aile le vol relatif et la wingsuit, mettant en commun trois projets
de records réunis sous la même bannière : la French Connection.

En freefly, le tout premier record date de
2007 à Vichy, où une formation à 21 avait
été réalisée sous l'impulsion d'Arno
Fletcher, et avec l'aide de Joël Cruciani.
L'idée de réaliser une meilleure
performance avait alors germé.

puis de monter jusqu'à 60. Avec 75 freeflyers présents sur place à Pujaut cette
année-là, en 2014, il y avait le potentiel
pour y arriver. Mais le contrôle aérien de
la région avait décidé brusquement de
limiter les largages au niveau 135...

En 2011, avec trois Cessna Caravan et 62
freeflyers, un record à 40 a été validé à
Pujaut. La meilleure performance nationale au niveau européen à l'époque !

L'actuel record de France de grande
formation en freefly date ainsi de 2014,
une figure à 48 réalisée à Pujaut, dans
des conditions difficiles et sous l'égide
de l'association Avignon Parachutisme
SC420. C'est à 4100 mètres d'altitude,
avec seulement 45 secondes de travail,

Trois ans plus tard, l'idée était de passer
la barre du 50, dans un premier temps,

que ce record à 48 a été réussi :
un véritable exploit, mais qui avait mis
12 personnes sur la touche.
Devant un tel potentiel humain,
les organisateurs étaient donc très
motivés pour recommencer d'autres
tentatives, mais en respectant le rythme
qu'ils s'étaient fixé, soit des tentatives
tous les trois ans, pour ne pas saturer.
Et surtout en organisant des stages
d'entraînement intermédiaires,
car c'était nécessaire.
