Concept vehicle The Toyota 1/X (pronounced "one-Xth") is a concept car that redefines a car’s basic structure and manufacturing process to reduce the amount of CO2 emissions and resource consumption. Among its attributes, the vehicle weighs only “1/Xth” that of other vehicles in its class. It maintains an interior space on par with that of the Prius, with an aimed-for fuel efficiency that is double and a weight reduced to 420 kilograms (about one third the weight of the Prius). The vehicle combines a fossil fuel consumption-reducing technology and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, thus emitting less CO2 and contributing to the prevention of air pollution. It also adopts light but highly rigid carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) throughout the body frame to ensure superior collision safety, while allowing narrower pillars for a better field of vision. The sides and roof are made of fibreglass-reinforced plywood with a foam core. The first unit was built to prove it can be done successfully and safely. CAMI is now building the trailer for the Terra Wind. This trailer will be able to float, just as the coach does. Terra Wind prices range from around US$850,000 to US$1.2M.
