Main properties of CC-GRP pipes
GRP pipes have properties that are appreciated not just within the scope of the Ajaccio metropolitan area CAPA’s sanitation programme, but worldwide. Some of these are: - high mechanical strength and 50year design basis; - mechanical strength of fittings equal to or higher than that of the pipes; - longitudinal stiffness that makes the pipes self-supporting; - impervious to stray currents and polarization effect; - excellent abrasion resistance; - high corrosion resistance (standard pipe systems compatible with effluents having pH from 1 to 10 at 35°C under continuous operation), adaptable to suit the individual project; - practically no maintenance required on the installed pipeline; - very low manufacturing tolerances (circularity, straightness, lengths); - excellent leaktightness due to close fit of coupling on pipe ; - very low roughness of liner (k = 0.01 mm), equivalent to a Manning Strickler coefficient varying between 100 and 115; - easily cut and bevelled on site to make changes; low weight makes them easy to transport and install; - possibility to vary thickness and composition of composite (automated centrifugal casting process); - multidirectional glass-fibre reinforcement with high tensile elongation; - highly compact wall, due to interstitial pressure from the centrifugal casting process, the relatively small space taken up by the reinforcement and fillers, the high compatibility with the matrix, and the distribution of the polyester throughout the wall (GRP

Stringent regulations

GRP pipes are subject to a broad range of national and international standards. These pipes and fittings comply strictly with the NF EN 14364 European standard, which covers “glass-reinforced thermosetting plastic pipe systems for drainage and sewerage with or without pressure”.
