graphene derived from
graphite.
Last but not least,
we have very strong
expertise in our team
in the dispersal of
graphene and nanomaterials in range of solid
polymers matrices, as
well as aqueous and
non-aqueous solution,
powders and base oils.
I believe that this combination of high purity,
dispersibility and high
volume production
capabilities make AGM
quite unique in the
graphene landscape.
JCM: Do you think you
can improve on your
technical characteristics?

J. M. : There is always
scope for improving
material properties.
However, any improvement of technical characteristics only
makes sense if it is relevant for specific
application requirements. One area in
which AGM has strong expertise and
an opportunity to further differentiate
its products is that of size control of
the graphene nanoplatelets produced.
Controlling the size will allow us to
further tune the performance of our
dispersions to selectively enhance - for
instance - optical, electrical and rheology properties.

increase in the last 5-10 years.
In terms of scale-up and volume production, our process is not batch based,
does not involve polluting or dangerous
chemicals and is not extremely labour
intensive. These characteristics together
with the proprietary design of our plant
ensure unlimited scalability of our production capabilities to meet any volume
demand. The speed and cost of AGM
plant design, build and commissioning,
as well as the low environmental impact
of the process, provides an unmatched
flexibility in scaling up our production
through the duplication of plants and
even their rapid installment in locations
that best suit customers production
flow. This flexibility in production and
its scalability are unique.
AGM graphene nanoplatelets are produced free of any substrate and ready
for dispersion. As I already mentioned,
our graphene products are also free of

JCM: Have you set any specific development goals for your company?

J. M. : There are obviously numerous
development opportunities. Among
these three seem particularly compelling. First of all, a further increase of
AGM's graphene production capacity,
from the few tonnes a year to hundreds
of tonnes per year. As mentioned earlier,
AGM has a lot of flexibility around the

implementation of this, due to the characteristics of our process and plant.
Secondly, a continued expansion of our
application development laboratory and
team will allow AGM to keep growing
its application and product portfolio,
and continue to unlock value-added deployment opportunities. AGM may also
consider going further downstream in
the value chain and, in certain sectors,
go beyond the preparation of dispersion
to develop building block components.
Thirdly, the range of enabling nanomaterials produced by the AGM could be
expanded to include other graphene,
carbon and nano-related materials.
JCM: Are you looking for partners (distributor, joint venture, representative, etc.)
to advance your international development?

J. M. : Absolutely! For a manufacturer
of new and potentially disruptive materials like AGM, application partners
will always be an essential element of
identifying and developing value-added
applications. This is particularly relevant in the case of graphene, given the
very broad range of applications possible, which require in-depth expertise
in selected industry verticals.
For certain product development
opportunities, joint ventures could also
be a route to market worth considering.
In terms of sales and marketing, alongside the option of having partners for
representation and distribution, we will
expand our own sales and marketing
force to cover specific sectors and key
geographical markets beyond Europe.
JCM: Do you plan to open up the pool to
other investors?

J. M. : The availability of further
capital is always important to enable
business scale-up and expansion. We
have therefore decided to list on AIM
market in the UK which will provide
us with a financial platform to support
rapid expansion both now and going
forwards. n
