Litzler is a specialist in carbon fibre lines including oxidation ovens with the
patented G5 End-Seal system and all the machinery and controls required for
complete pilot and production machines. Litzler was founded in 1953 in Cleveland,
Ohio. The Litzler family of companies and products includes Litzler, Quickdraft, PSC,

processed with more efficiency

product widths are not disturbed,

fabric, poly, and prepreg unwinds and
rewinds. Tension control is critical
for high-quality prepreg. It starts
with the proper creel, spreading and
guiding of the tow as the fibre is
introduced to the machine.
Finally, Litzler provides a user-friendly control system produced 100%
in-house through the Litzler Automation group. A dedicated internal team
designs and programs the machine to
exacting specifications using thorough programming protocols and
accepted standards.

Solution-based
prepreg equipment
Solution-based prepreg equipment
is a second option for fabrics, UD
or tow-preg. This process usually

involves dipping the fibre into a
resin solution using solvents or water
as the carrier. The company is a
specialist in solution treaters based
on advanced oven designs, advanced
metering roll designs, tension control
expertise, and Litzler Automation
control systems.
Solvent drying is an important phase
for solution prepreg. The OPTIFLOW oven design is an exclusive
technology developed internally
that includes engineered return air
designs to increase the side-to-side
airflow and temperature uniformity.
Side-to-side uniformity across the
whole width of the prepreg is the
most critical attribute to high-quality
solution prepreg. Ovens can be vertical or horizontal depending on the
required application. The company
designs to the latest safety standards,
including NFPA, ATEX, and CE,
to ensure solvents dry in a safe and
efficient manner.
For energy efficiency, the ovens use
clean, fresh heat recovery designs
that utilize the waste heat recycled
from the pollution control system.
The machine uses very low fuel rates
as the solvent in the exhaust stream
becomes the main fuel source for
heating the oven.
The machinery designs include
metering roll coaters that incorporate
0.00127 mm coater rolls and precision bearings. The gap setting mechanism ensures even resin distribution
throughout the woven fibre.
The balance of the machine includes
user-friendly unwinds, rewinds,
accumulators and Litzler Automation
control systems.
