a programme to become CO2 neutral by 2030.

JCM: What is Faurecia's strategy and vision given the paradigm shift in technology the
automotive industry is currently
undergoing?
Frank Daufenbach: Faurecia's
transformation strategy is fully aligned with the four major
trends disrupting the automotive
industry: connectivity, autonomy,
ridesharing and electrification.

How does Faurecia Group, as a
global leader in the automotive
industry, position itself as a
supplier of zero-emission powertrain solutions and what solutions are you pushing forward?
F.D.: As a leading technology supplier, we see ourselves in the position to support all manufacturers,
no matter which zero-emission
powertrain they promote - battery
or fuel cell technology. There will
be more than eight billion people
in 2030 and a steadily growing
proportion of them will be mobile.
One type of zero-emission powertrain alone, such as the battery-electric vehicule, will not be enough to
ensure mobility in a low-carbon
and affordable way. So, we do not
believe that there will be only one
zero-emission powertrain, but a
mix, depending on the different
use cases. We are pushing both alternatives forward. On top of that,
we are constantly working to make
the traditional powertrain (internal
combustion engine) cleaner, and
we believe that ultra-clean internal
combustion engines are critical to
achieving cleaner mobility in the
short and long term.
