Changzhou Zhongfu Liberty
Composites Co., Ltd. (Zhongfu
Liberty), a subsidiary of the
China National Building Material
Group (CNBM), launched
a self-developed special functional
board. Th is product is
made of special glass fi bre thin
felt as a raw material, using a
self-developed water-soluble
environmentally-friendly resin
formula, and is manufactured
through
a
high-temperature
and high-pressure composite
process. According to Zhongfu
Liberty, the new product has
the highest fi reproof rating, as
well as high safety, waterproofing,
moisture proofi ng, mildew
proofi ng, antibacterial, stain
resistance, impact resistance
and environmentally-friendly
properties.Th e products off er
120 varieties of design and colour
such as wood grain, stone
grain, weave, plain colour, etc.,
and can meet the various needs
of diff erent customers and
usage scenarios.
During the research and development
process, technicians
combined the company's proprietary
special glass fi bre felt
with inorganic environmental
protection fi llers, supplemented
by self-developed water-based
functional additives,
so that each component is fully
compatible and evenly dispersed.
Th us, the performance
advantages of composite
materials can be maximized,
and the mechanical strength of
products can be comprehensively
improved. Th is process
completely solves the problem
that traditional inorganic materials
are fi reproof but have poor
toughness and cannot be bent,
while eff ectively avoiding the
drawbacks of organic materials
with good toughness but no
fi re resistance, and endows the
product with strong market
competitiveness and functional
characteristics.
Special functional material
products can be widely used in
building fi t-up, home furnishing,
transportation and other
fi elds, greatly reducing the
exploitation and development
of natural resources such as
wood and stone. With the
commercialisation of these
products',
Zhongfu Liberty has already
reached strategic partnerships
with many enterprises in
Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong,

contracts for over 100 million

The China Building Materials
Academy (CBMA)
and Saudi Aramco recently
announced the launch of
Nexcel, a new Nonmetallic
Excellence and Innovation
Centre to further advance
the use of nonmetallic materials
in the building and
construction sector. The
centre will be located in
Beijing, China. Nexcel will
leverage CBMA's expertise
and resources to promote
the development and application
of nonmetallic technologies
that offer superior
lifecycle cost, efficiency and
environmental advantages
over their metal alternatives.
Ahmad A. Al-Sa'adi, senior
vice president of technical
services at Aramco, said:

China's Grad Group wins the bid for a
130-million-yuan glass fi bre-reinforced plastic
pipeline project
Shandong Grad Group Co.,
Ltd. announced that
it has
won the bid for the Korla
Second Water Source Project,
for an amount of nearly
130 million yuan (€18 million),
laying a good foundation
for the group's business
development in 2022.
The pipeline is the general
contracting project for the
second water source construction
programme (Phase
II) in Korla City, Xinjiang
province, China. It chiefly
includes the construction
of a water intake head, a
