keting, blogs and video content. Litmus'
2016 State of Email Report found that
72 percent of consumers prefer email as
their primary business to consumer communication. It's also most preferred by
journalists. According to the 2016 Cision
State of the Media Report, 91 percent of
journalists prefer the use of email for the
delivery of content. To effectively jump
out of the inbox and online, be concise
in your emails and tell your story rather
than " sell " it. Based on the survey, journalists are also more likely to cover content that is emailed with bios and backgrounders and links to hi-res photos.
Make It Personal
According to the Cisco® Visual Networking Index, video will dominate 82 percent
of all consumer online traffic by 2020.
Video lends itself to personalization and
personalization increases conversion.
Whether informal or formal, you can
impact engagement by simply utilizing
media live streams, on-the-go broadcasts,
consumer video testimonies, video storytelling and video content distribution.
Getting to know journalists and bloggers on a personal level can also influence engagement. Use social media to
get to know their preferences, make honest connections and track their hashtags.
Becoming familiar with their personal
preferences will help you target what
they consider newsworthy content and,
in turn, improve your tactics.
Integrating these strategies into your current plan will revitalize media engagement
and help increase your bottom line. It's exciting to know that in the end, there's still
room for creativity and growth for any and
all marketers, including those marketing
municipal aquatic venues and programs.
