Children's Mercy Health Providers now contributes financially to support our state conference. We are currently working with the Bill Self Assists Foundation to establish an annual award which will pay tribute to a volunteer youth coach. ■■ Kansas Lottery. KRPA recently entered into partnership with the Kansas Lottery which has agreed to launch a scratch-off game on behalf of KRPA. The concept will both serve to provide a revenue stream to the association and also to promote parks and recreation around the state. ■■ Kansas Enrichment Network. KEN is the state organization that supports afterschool programs through both advocacy, education and funding. The KRPA executive director serves on the KEN board of directors which gives us an opportunity for expanding knowledge and understanding of after school programs for our members. ■■ Sunflower State Games. The annual state games of Kansas- the Sunflower State Games-provides KRPA an opportunity to have a leadership presence in support of the largest amateur sports competition event in the state. The KRPA executive director serves on the board of directors of the Sunflower State Games and uses its network of members to help promote the annual competition. ■■ Southeastern Security Consultants. Our Youth Sports Committee each year presents the STAR Award, which is a method to recognize the one youth sport team in the state that best demonstrates through its performance the values of sportsmanship and teamwork among its players, coaches, and parents. The award is presented at our state conference and SSCI is a partner in this award presentation and covers the cost of the awards. ■■ Musco Sports Lighting. KRPA recently signed a three-year business partnership agreement with Musco Sports Lighting to be the exclusive sponsor of our most meaningful opening social event at our state conference. The three-year agreement provides KRPA with an extended commitment for much-needed financial support at the state conference and positions Musco as a business entity demonstrating outstanding support of our organization.
