A Message from Chairman
Barry K. Dewberry
Looking back on the past 12 months, I should not be
so amazed by the changes within Dewberry, but I am.
Strategic investments that we implemented in 2011 and
2012 to broaden our horizons are now gaining critical
mass and momentum.
We organized ourselves to think and operate differently
so we can best respond to the challenges facing our clients.
We created a new design-build entity that enables us to
take on greater responsibility for our clients. One place this
is gaining traction is through a contract to perform facility
energy improvements for the Dormitory Authority of the
State of New York. Our work will include energy modeling,
design, and then bidding improvements to prequalified
contractors who will become subcontractors to this joint
venture with O’Brien & Gere. We’re also using this Dewberry
vehicle to lead design-build contracts for long-standing
utility client Dominion.
We are making big changes to how and where we
support our clients. We’re in the cloud. We are now a cloud
