Radha Tilton of Goldman Sachs and Eelco van de Stadt of DVB Bank SE. On the topic
of China's effect on the market, Kaufer said, "By its nature, aircraft are mobile. If
there's a slowdown in China, it'll be less fast growth, but it won't be no growth."
The last day of sessions closed out with the much-anticipated Lessor CEO Panel.
Tony Diaz, chairman of Zephyrus Aviation Capital, moderated and was joined by
Peter Barrett of SMBC Aviation Capital, Alec Burger of GECAS, Peter Chang of CDB
Aviation and John Plueger of Air Lease Corporation. Again, speakers focused on
the current global economic market and whether or not the aviation business is still
cyclical. "We see strong evidence of global growth," Plueger said. "Rather than call
it a cycle, I prefer to think about it as those cycles being significantly dampened in
amplitude and lengthening in period. It's cyclical, but it's muted."

Networking Events
It wouldn't be an ISTAT conference without numerous networking opportunities
throughout the event. On Sunday, 10 March, ISTAT held ISTAT Appraising: An
Introduction (formerly Appraiser 101) and the ISTAT NewGen Event. The event kicked
off with the Welcome Reception on the JW Marriott's beautiful Valencia Terrace.
On Monday, the ISTAT Women's Networking Reception in conjunction with
IAWA was held in the Citrus Garden. Several notable women in the field shared
comments about their careers, and all three of the women profiled in the Spring
2019 issue's feature on women in aviation were in attendance. Following that, the

the Palazzo Ballroom where attendees
could mingle before the start of
Club ISTAT.
Tuesday began with the ISTAT
President's Group Run with Douglas
Runte in the beautiful Orlando morning
air. Throughout the day, attendees
were able to meet in The Hub, Jet
Fuel Café and ISTAT Bistro. The night,
and conference, was capped with the
President's Gala Dinner and Award
Presentation where John Feren was
presented with the ISTAT Award.

ISTAT Americas ended sweetly with a
dessert reception in one of the grand
hotel's restaurants. We look forward
to seeing everyone at ISTAT Americas
next year.
