orkshops,
a new
addition
to ISTAT
Asia,
began on
Tuesday,
7 May, and included how to structure
an operating lease, credit and airline
risk analysis, and technical asset
management. Also on Tuesday
was the ISTAT Walking Tour at the
Shanghai French Concession, a tour
of the COMAC facilities and ISTAT
Appraising - An Introduction. Tuesday
night included the ISTAT NewGen Event
and the Opening Reception.

Day One
The conference officially kicked off
on Wednesday, 8 May, with opening
remarks by Gerry Butler, ISTAT
president and chief marketing officer
at Merx Aviation Finance, and Michael
Weiss, head of aircraft trading at SMBC
Aviation Capital. This was followed by
welcome remarks from Yuerang Zhao,
president of COMAC. In his remarks,
Yuerang Zhao talked about Shanghai
as the pioneer of "openness, innovation
and inclusiveness."
The Finance Panel was the first
of the day. It was moderated by Will
