T

he Boeing 777
Freighter (777F)
was launched in May
2005 and entered
service in February
2009. Based upon
the 777-200LR
passenger aircraft, which has the same
wingspan as the 777-300ER but the
fuselage length of the 777-200ER, the
777F is exclusively powered by two
General Electric engines, either the
GE90-110B1L or GE90-115B1L. The
aircraft has a structural payload of up
to 226,700 pounds, accommodated
in a typical main and lower deck
configuration of 27 pallets and 10
pallets respectively, with an additional
600ft3 available for bulk cargo and a
design range of 4,970nm.
The 777 Freighter meets the London
Heathrow QC2 noise standards, providing
maximum accessibility to noise-sensitive
airports. Performance capabilities and
ton-mile economics are unsurpassed by
any twin-engine freighter in service. The
777F operational design complements
747 cargo operations with easy direct
container transfer but is also seen by
Boeing as a replacement for older and
increasingly uneconomic 747F and MD11F freighters.

taking 19 new orders and delivering 21
aircraft. As of February 2020, Boeing
has delivered 181 777 Freighters and
has a relatively healthy 50 aircraft
