Maximum Range
has been provided by active sales
campaigns to help Boeing bridge
current 777 production to that of the
new 777X.
Assuming assertive OEM pricing
to encourage sales, some negative
effect on existing 777F values may
be expected. Additionally, further
pressure may ensue from the recent
launch by GECAS in partnership
with Israel Aircraft Industries of a
passenger-to-freighter conversion
of the 777-300ER, with GECAS
providing an order for up to 30 777300ERSFÂ aircraft.
As the smaller of the large
capacity widebody freighters in
production from 2010, the 777F
should remain in strong demand
from major airlines, integrators,
ACMI operators and specialist cargo
operators alike, both for current fleet
replacement and additional capacity.
Despite high acquisition costs in
a high utilization, high fuel cost
environment, factory-built freighters
are preferred to conversions for their
superior reliability, specifications,
lower operating costs and longer
economic useful life. The Boeing 777
Freighter, with its unique extended
range, payload capability and high
technology efficiencies, has no direct
competitor. Although Airbus has
considered a 90-ton Airbus A350900F, which it has claimed would
have 25-30% lower operating costs
