" The second priority is making net-zero
in 2050 come to life, " he said.
Similarly, Johnson said her
company's priority is " return to
service. " When asked if she expected
a wave of aircraft retirements, she
said: " We waited for retirements to
start, and even in 2022, they are
not materializing. We're trying to
understand when they will come and
expect them to pick up by the end of
the year. "
Pratt & Whitney's priority is also
to " keep the fleet flying, " Kirk said,
but he also mentioned the importance
of production rates and the supply
chain. Welaratne said his company's
priority is the quality of its portfolio.
" We are bullish on growth and new-gen
narrowbody and widebody engines. In
order to grow, you have to have your
house in order, " he said.
