After that was the Power Panel,
moderated by Andy Beer, managing
director of aviation finance at Standard
Chartered Aviation Finance. The panel
included Jason Tonich, vice president
of global sales and marketing at GE
Aviation, and Mary Ellen Jones, senior
adviser at Pratt & Whitney. Some of
the questions Beer delved into were
" What's the future of PBTH products
in the industry? Are we seeing a shift
in OEM strategy for the aftermarket? "
Other topics included engine
architecture, supporting the growth of
SAF production and the breakup of the
GE conglomerate.
The Alternative Finance Panel was
moderated by Valerie Tay, managing
director of Asia at SKY Aviation Leasing
(Singapore) Pte Lte. The panel included
Eelco Van de Stadt, president of PK
AirFinance; Kostya Zolotusky, CEO
of Itasca Re; Paul Da Vall, head of
aviation equity funds at Bank Plc.; and
Axel Hammar, chief risk officer at AV
Airfinance Limited.
The panel " Finding Value in
Transactions Today " followed, with
Mui Sin Chan, head of treasury at BOC
Aviation Limited, moderating. Panelists
included Yip Hin Meng, executive vice
president and head of aviation asset
management at ST Engineering; John
Duffy, chief commercial officer at SKY
Leasing; Lewis Sutherland, head of
Asia for Deucalion; and Pat Madigan,
head of commercial at Genesis.
The day's final panel, the Lessor
CEO Panel, was moderated by William
Glaister, partner at Clifford Chance
LLP. He was joined by Thomas Baker,
CEO of Aviation Capital Group; Robert
Martin, CEO of BOC Aviation; Ted
O'Byrne, CEO of Avilease; and Mike
Poon, executive director and CEO of
China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings
Limited. Topics included the retreat
of aircraft leasing, consolidation
in the industry, whether the basic
infrastructure of aircraft leasing
withstood the stress test of COVID-19
and how lessors can influence ESG
trends, among other topics.
