Internships and
Mentorships
The Internship and
Mentorship
Committee, led by
chair Joey Johnsen,
closes out 2022 after

connecting over two dozen students
and member companies for the
mentorship program. The Internship
Program provides up to US$2,500 per
student in housing and out-of-pocket
expenses to assist students with
relocation and housing costs associated
with internships. The committee was
pleased that several member
companies advertised positions on the
ISTAT job portal.
Additionally, the committee
integrated its internship portal
with the new ISTAT Career Center
in 2022, amounting to a total of
US$487,933. Led by chair Andy LaStella,
the Scholarship Program reached
students in Austria, China, Colombia,
Egypt, England, France, Ireland, Japan,
the Netherlands and South Africa.
Scholarship recipients not only
received financial support for tuition but
also complimentary ISTAT membership
and conference registration for five
years. The program supports students in
establishing a well-rounded network for
their careers.

ISTAT U
ISTAT University, or
ISTAT U, launched in
2015, gives aspiring
aviation professionals
an insight into aviation
finance and leasing through real-world
concepts and methodologies. The
program was developed in partnership
with Embry Riddle Aeronautical
University (ERAU) and offers both
in-person (ISTAT 1.0) and online (ISTAT
2.0) courses.
