Orchestrating Internal
Partnerships: Making Beautiful
Music Together at Jazz Pharmaceuticals
I By Tim Sosbe

W

orkforce learning is nothing
if not a group effort,
requiring a carefully
conducted symphony that features the
performances of leaders, trainers, and
learners. To make beautiful music
together, all the players must be in
tune and on tempo. e work sings
when the players perform in harmony.
Performing at a company with
music in its very name, the U.S. sales
training team at Jazz Pharmaceuticals
certainly is aware of the importance of
working together in harmony. In fact,
the Jazz learning leaders are taking the
musical metaphor to a whole new
level, orchestrating training as a
partnership that has all stakeholders
providing instrumental support.
As the U.S. sales training lead for
Jazz, Susan Page is one of the
conductors charged with ensuring that
about 200 professionals in the U.S.
commercial sales team are each
prepared to play at their highest level.
And as Page is quick to point out, it's a
team effort,
definitely not a solo
performance.
Workplace culture and
living their patientfocused mission is so
important at Jazz that
annually, 1-2 Jazz
employees globally are
awarded a Jazz Master.
Through an open
nomination process, the
Jazz Master is awarded
to individuals who
exemplify Jazz values.
